About Us
Opened in 1994 by Jim and Rose Altvater, Bridgeville Automotive is an auto repair shop that has been proudly serving the automotive and tire needs of customers located throughout the Upper Saint Clair, PA, area, including those in Pittsburgh and South Hills. When we first opened, we were a small, one-man shop. But thanks to our commitment to providing exceptional customer service and satisfaction, our client list continued to grow.
Now, almost 25 years later, our shop has become one of the area’s most prominent, full-service auto repair centers. Our staff includes three ASE-certified technicians and one service writer all dedicated to helping you efficiently and effectively repair your vehicle at a very competitive price. Our original motto is just as true today as it was when we first wrote it: “Old-Fashioned Quality & Service for Today’s Automobiles.”

Our team has nearly 100 years of combined car repair and service experience, which means they are able to get your vehicle back on the road promptly. Additionally, everything we do is backed by our minimum 12 month/12,000-mile warranty!
Meet Our Staff
Jim Altvater – Owner & Master Technician
Jim has more than 38 years of experience as an auto technician. He has been an ASE Master Certified Technician for more than 35 years and is Pennsylvania Inspection & Emission licensed. He is also emission-waiver licensed. Jim is a two-time national NAPA/ASE Technician of the Year finalist.
Ellen Flasck – Service Writer
Ellen has more than 35 years of experience in the automotive industry. She has considerable experience in new car sales and as a parts manager and service writer.
Todd Griffith – Automotive Technician
Todd has more than 35 years of experience as a technician. He is ASE Master Certified, Chrysler Master Certified, and has his Pennsylvania Inspection & Emissions licenses.
